What this is for
If you've ever hosted a pub quiz, a corporate trivia night, a school fundraiser, or a house-party quiz, you know the prep eats more time than the event itself. Coming up with questions is fun, but the operational glue — splitting people into teams, running rounds to time, handling tiebreakers, printing scoresheets — is where the evening lives or dies. These tools handle that operational glue so you can focus on the questions.
Everything here is free, runs in the browser, and stores no data. The PDF host kit downloads directly with no email gate. The interactive tools (team generator, round timer, tiebreakers) need no account and don't communicate with our servers after the page has loaded — your guest list, your timer state, your tiebreaker picks all stay in your browser tab. Close the tab and it's gone.
When to use each tool
- Before the event — paste your guest list into the team generator to split into balanced teams. Print the host kit PDF and bring scoresheets to the venue.
- During each round — project the round timer on a screen, fullscreen mode. Teams can self-pace and you don't have to call time.
- If two teams tie — open the tiebreaker library, filter to a category you haven't used yet, pick at random, read it out. The team closest to the actual number wins.

Every tool on this page came from a specific moment of frustration during a real quiz night. The team generator exists because we were splitting 22 people into teams on a paper napkin. The timer exists because the BBC News countdown video we'd been using kept getting pre-roll ads. The tiebreaker library exists because we'd run out of pre-prepped tiebreakers two rounds into a sudden-death evening.
